Sophomore Gianna Pritts recently began her banner business, and it has been a huge hit. Pritts began this business in August of 2025 and has seen great success with it. She started off by painting banners to hang in the hallways at Trinity to show her support for the football team, as she is a cheerleader, and this sparked her interest in taking it further and making it into a business venture.
Her usual clientele is made up of her fellow classmates, family and friends, as she often makes banners for birthdays or special occasions. Not only is the business successful in the Washington area, but she also wants to expand her business nationally rather than staying local.
Pritts stated, “I want to grow my business to be more national rather than local. I love all my local clients, but it’d be exciting to ship some signs to other states,”
When starting this business, some challenges were faced. Organization was a big obstacle for her, and figuring out a schedule of when each banner needed to be completed was an obstacle. As she overcame these troubles, she started seeing growth in her work.
Not only does she get the word out at school, but Pritts also runs an Instagram account where she takes orders and displays her work. Social media plays a huge role in her business; without Instagram, she wouldn’t have a clientele or a portfolio to present her work.
All her banners are made in a timely manner and are of great quality. It often takes her around a week to finish and deliver each banner.
Senior, Amelia Grayson mentioned, “My mom ordered a banner from Gianna for the first day of school, and it was good quality; we still have it.”
She takes pride in her business products, just like her cheer banners. Each week during football season, she made a new banner to be hung in the hallway to show her support. Pritts puts countless hours and time into each banner to make sure it fits its theme and looks perfect. She recently made a senior banner for Gianna Stiehler and a playoff banner for the Trinity vs. Aliquippa game.
Senior, Addison Mercurio stated, “All of her cheer banners are very pretty and she puts lots of hard work into them.”
Pritts has high hopes for growing and expanding her banner business, and she is off to a great start!
