- What is your position on staff?
I am the Media Editor and the Arts and Entertainment Editor. I’ve been both of these for two years.
- How long have you been on staff and why did you join?
I’ve been on staff since sophomore year, so three years. I joined because one of my best friends, Dresden Bouman, was on staff and I wanted to hang out with her. I also looked up to many of the other girls on staff.
- What makes The Hiller special/different from any other club?
I think that it’s not too big and there’s a wide range of grades in it. We can get to know each other easily. It’s a class with no notes where I can learn from mistakes.
- What is your favorite article you’ve done? Why?
My favorite articles are my fashion articles; I love writing them. However, my favorite one to write is how to wrap different shapes of gifts. It took a long time, but it was so fun. My favorite podcast was the Thanksgiving play because it brought in so many fresh faces. I also loved doing the Ghost podcast with Mrs. Berty.
- What was your favorite memory from class?
My favorite memory was when we used to go all out with holiday parties. I loved the Valentine’s party when I made my beautiful cake. Going to the Hiller Cafe with my friends was also one of my favorite memories because it was a nice break and it was the only time I got to go.
- What advice would you give to other staff members?
Don’t be nervous to talk to new people. Get out of your shell more with interviews because it’s more funny than embarrassing. This is more of a job than anything; you can make friends from interviews too!
- What are your future plans?
I’m planning to go to Gettysburg College and double major in Anthropology and Public Policy. I’ll also minor in Journalism or Filmmaking. After that, I hope to travel and join The Peace Corps.
- How many times has Mrs. O’Lare rolled her eyes at Cadi?
Taking into consideration that Cadi hasn’t been to class too much, this number isn’t that high. I do think at least 500.
- Anything else to add?
I love The Hiller Newspaper and it’s incredibly underrated. More people should read the issues. We all work so hard and I love our staff and Mrs. O’Lare!!!
