Co-captain, Tucker Proudfit prepares to spike the ball, helping the boys to win their match against Keystone Oaks. Trinity family is cheering on the volleyball team as they continue through their season! Good luck boys!

Spring sports season has rapidly approached and with that comes Trinity boys’ volleyball. Beginning their season in early March, they have been off to a promising start.

The team is led by Coach Myers, Assistant Coach Ryan Hyland and volunteer Assistant Coach Lauren Hyland. Myers expressed that this is a young team, and with the young team comes new talent but also lots of hard work.

The coaches are looking forward to seeing how the team meshes together to become great friends and teammates.

The boys enjoy away games, as they are a time to bond and become a better team. They enjoy cheering each other on and being supportive of each other no matter what the outcome of the game is.

With no seniors on the team, they are led by Junior co-captains Josh Lent and Tucker Proudfit. Their captain position comes with a lot of responsibility because most players are not familiar with competitive volleyball. Their job is to help the new players learn a new sport.

Lent said that “they get better every day” and “are continuing to make progress” as the season continues.

The main goal this season is to improve the team through drill work and game-like situations to teach the players the fundamentals of volleyball. Proudfit plans on helping the younger, newer players increase their skills this season.

Practices consist of passing and spiking the ball to each other, along with improving their skills. They practice Monday through Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. Myers hopes that the team adjusts quickly to the speed and intensity of the varsity game.

“If they adjust quickly, we should be able to make the playoffs,” said Coach Myers, who is optimistic about the season.

Be sure to come out and show support at the rest of their games this season!
