That’s a wrap, Hillers! The end is finally here. This is my last official WWCD article, and it is truly bittersweet.
I joined The Hiller Newspaper my sophomore year after taking Journalism 1 the year before. I was quite interested by the thought of writing about whatever I wanted, and informing the student body while doing so. At the end of my first year, the previous WWCD author, Dresden Bouman, kindly handed down the column to me. It truly was such a blessing to be awarded with a task like this. I got to share amazing stories, tips and tricks and so much more. Some of my most notable were definitely how to be grateful and how to live your best life. However, the best part of the newspaper was the staff. This class has given me some of my best friends, and the opportunity to hang out everyday with the great Mrs. O’Lare, who has put up with me long enough. Even though I am tremendously excited to graduate, I will miss all the amazing memories (and amazing people!) that I made in Room 164.
As I leave Trinity, I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Washington & Jefferson College where I will be majoring in Childhood Development & Education, as well as English. Since I am so close, I am excited to see how Trinity and The Hiller Staff continue to grow!
With this being said, my last piece of advice is the underlying one throughout every article I’ve written: enjoy every moment of high school. This goes for all– the upcoming freshmen, those who are about to enter their final year at THS and even the staff who have been here for countless years. It goes by so much faster than you think, and before you know it, you’ll be walking out of this building one last time.
Seniors, keep in touch! The bonds that were made here are so important and do not forget that. We’ve grown together for 13 years, through elementary, middle and high school. Just because we will be going separate ways, does not mean we need to live separate lives.
With me graduating this year, I will be passing WWCD to another voice on the staff. I am elated to announce and pass down this column to the one and only Annabella Andreetti . I believe they are a perfect fit for this role, and I am anticipating wonderful articles to come from them in the coming years. I’ve watched them grow over the year(s), and I know they will continue the long line of Chelseas who have done the same.
Thank you, Trinity, and the rest of The Hiller Staff, for everything. If you ever have a question, just ask yourself, What Would Cameron Do?
