We’ve finally reached the end of senior year. Our high school years are coming to an end, and while most of us are focused on where we go next, it’s also important to look back on where we came from.
Seven years ago, in a middle school building, we all met each other for the first time — bright-eyed and with our whole lives ahead of us. The years have flown by since then; we’ve started working, driving and making new friends. We’ve all grown up together and are so lucky to have the opportunity to stand here today as high school graduates!
After spending years studying for exams, cheering for the Hillers at Friday Night Lights, watching the musical performances and celebrating at pep rallies, it is finally coming to an end. A mere four years ago it seemed we had our whole lives ahead of us, and now it’s time to seize the day.
What feels like forever ago, we joined the newspaper, and for three years, we have brought the school news every month. Sometimes we showed up when you least expected it, but we’re so grateful to you for going along with our relentless requests for interviews and signatures. But throughout it all, the skills we learned and the friendships we made were more meaningful than anything. As the current Co-Editors-in-Chief of The Hiller Newspaper, we have worked incredibly hard throughout the year to bring you stories from the wonderful Trinity community.
With that being said, we are ecstatic to be able to pass down the newspaper tradition to the younger classes, see what new ideas they create and watch as the future generations develop the world of media.
So, as we walk across the stage and throw our graduation caps into the air, do not fail to remember the true meaning of it all. To the Class of 2026, we are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished, and excited to see what the future holds for all of you. The past 13 years were directed toward preparing you for this very moment; don’t be afraid! The future is waiting for you, whatever it may hold. The most important thing to remember when looking ahead is to remember where we came from – Trinity High School. We hope you enjoy this issue of The Hiller because it was created just for you!
As we step into this next chapter of our lives, and we’re all pulled in different directions, remember: once a Hiller, always a Hiller!
