Throughout the world, people of all ages struggle with their mornings. Having a morning routine can fix most of that struggle because having organized, repetitive tasks can reduce stress and anxiety.
How can sleep contribute to a better day?
The amount of sleep that most people should get is around 8-10 hours per night. This is helpful because people who get less sleep often have trouble regulating their emotions and their school/work performance can be affected. Not only that, the lack of sleep can affect an individual’s health as well as their mental health. A way to get better sleep is to set a time to settle down and get ready for bed, and read a book or journal before going to sleep.
What can an individual do in the mornings to improve your mindfulness?
There are countless things people do in the morning to improve their mind, for example, exercise. Yoga is an excellent way to improve, not just the body, but also the mind. It boosts energy and increases strength and flexibility in the body. It also helps with stress, anxiety and focus. Another way is to journal. Journaling can be used multiple ways, even jotting down a few words on the paper. Journaling can also be used to gather thoughts and clear the mind.
Why is breakfast the most important meal of the day?
Breakfast replenishes glucose and gives the body the nutrition it needs to follow through with the day. Studies show that people who eat a balanced breakfast every morning reduces the chances of developing illnesses and diseases like diabetes. A balanced breakfast often includes protein, healthy fats, fiber and water. Some foods that fit into this category are oatmeal, eggs, smoothies, fruit and toast.
Better health Victoria State Government Department of Health states, “People who eat breakfast are more likely to meet their recommended daily intakes of vitamins and minerals than people who don’t.”
How do you plan for the morning ahead?
Making a plan is a wonderful way to make the day less stressful while it is also a way to be more organized and productive. Two ways you can do this are by making a to-do list of things for the next morning and using a planner to write down important events that are happening that day.
Morning routines often include a plan or checklist, a balanced breakfast, activities and some sort of movement. All of these can improve an individual’s well being and the day ahead. A morning routine doesn’t need to be complex with a lot of precise steps, it just needs to be simple and fitted perfectly to that individual’s needs.
