How do seniors plan on remembering their high school graduation now that it’s officially 2026? As graduation is only a few months away, some grads begin buying keepsakes, such as stuffed animals, blankets and photo albums; others remember their time in school solely through memories.
Graduation parties are a popular way to end the school experience, as well as all the accomplishments, achievements, and memories from the past twelve years in school. Some begin planning their grad party such as what they would like to be displayed and purchase specific items to be at these parties, while others show off past sporting achievements and academic awards. Student athletes often put out their sports uniforms from the span of the time they have played, or arrange medals and trophies that they have earned.
Senior Emma Detrick stated, “I’ll have my awards that I’ve won from dance and my senior banner from cheer out.”
The new trend in recent years has been to decorate graduation caps to make them more personal. These caps could be kept as a keepsake to look back on years from now. Some accessorize their caps with the college they plan to attend, while others put childhood favorites or any memorable trinkets on them.
Customizable gifts have begun to rise in popularity as well. The brand Jellycat, which offers stuffed animals with a graduation cap on top, and the brand Sonny Angel, which offers a personalized miniature version of a graduating angel, have caught many seniors’ attention.
Detrick also said, “I was thinking about getting a Jellycat with a graduation cap on it.”
In addition to purchasing keepsakes, some decide to take a “senior trip” with all of their friends to cherish their time together. To most, trips like these can be more memorable than anything purchased.
Senior, Jackson Takacs mentioned, “I’m not buying anything, but I might go on a senior trip.”
The change from high school to college can be drastic and challenging for most, but all the time spent at Trinity can never be forgotten. The four years of high school fly by fast, but so much is accomplished in those years.
Senior Grace Cessna commented, “I’ll remember my senior year by having as much fun as I can.”
To some, photos can be a memorable keepsake. Over the span of the year, many pictures are taken. Whether it’s from homecoming, football games or even throughout the school day, those memories will never be forgotten.
These photos are often displayed at graduation parties to resemble how each person has grown and changed throughout their lives.
As 2026 has already begun and as the end of the school year approaches, seniors should strive to cherish their time in their few months of high school and start preparing for how to celebrate their graduation. Have fun, seniors, and good luck!
