The Trinity School Board has recently gained three new members: Justin Bardella, David Johnson and Alison Migyanko. These members were elected in November 2025, following a campaign that began in early 2025. These new electees will serve a term of four years.
Bardella, one of the three recently elected board members, represents Amwell and North Franklin Townships. He has had an interest in learning about the school board for a while, but the idea of participating as a part of the board seemed out of reach.
Bardella says, “I’ve always been interested in learning about the school board. I just never thought I would have the opportunity to do it. It’s a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community and ensure the kids are getting quality education and/or any athletic opportunity that they can.”
Bardella is excited to get to know the staff, students and administration and plans to prioritize the students above all with his position on the board.
Johnson, a Trinity alumnus, also represents Amwell and North Franklin Townships. He has always fostered an interest in education and waited to run until his children, Noah and Tyler Johnson, had graduated. His connection to Trinity goes way back.
Johnson says, “My ties to Trinity starts with my father who graduated from Trinity to myself and my wife and then to our two children Noah and Tyler. Trinity has been a part of my life since day one. It is nice to give back to a school that helped me become the person I am today.”
Johnson plans to continue Trinity’s trend as a great place to attend for students and staff.
Migyanko, a former Trinity teacher and mother to Trinity students, represents South Strabane Township. She became interested in running for the board after attending the monthly meetings and seeing the impact that the board had on students and the district.
Migyanko taught classes at Trinity High School in the Business Education department and is also a co-founder of the Hiller Cafe. She has two children at Trinity Intermediate School and Trinity Middle School.
She plans to use her position on the board to positively affect all of Trinity Area school district.
Migyanko said, “One of the most important things that I want to do in this position is listen, observe and understand. I have a vote that is going to impact students, teachers, staff and the taxpayers. This I take very seriously. I want to help make decisions that bring the best to our district as a whole.”
The school board does a significant amount of work behind the scenes. They deal with district budget, vision, policies, curriculum, and facilities all while representing the community. In short, the members of the school board manage the whole education system of Trinity.
Migyanko added, “I would like to encourage students to attend a school board meeting to see how decisions are made for our district. Our meetings are open to the public and I would love to welcome any students in attendance. Education and our students are the true focus and motivation of the school board decisions.”
School board meetings occur on the first and third Thursdays of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room at Trinity Hall, with the exception of January, July and December. Typically, one meeting lasts about half an hour. These meetings provide insight into the inner workings of the district and the thought process behind every decision and development made for the school, including issues like next year’s academic schedule and summer break, changes to cellphone policies, and upcoming projects. The next board meeting is February 5.
