Dobich and Sprouse taste the Butterfly Pea Flower Frappe. Their smiles showed their delight with the tasty drink!

Located off of Rt. 19, Crazy Horse Coffee stands as a hidden gem. Seniors Marissa Sprouse and Marissa Dobich took the reins and tested out some products that Crazy Horse has to offer.

Dobich ordered an iced Raspberry White Mocha and there was no horsing around. That coffee was gone in minutes.

Sprouse commented, “That coffee looks beautiful,” referencing the pleasing aesthetic of the white mocha and raspberry swirls that decorated the coffee. The coffee was delivered in a 20oz cup, at $5.65, which Dobich believed to be a bit pricey.

Dobich looks for a fresh, non-watered down, natural taste in a coffee and claimed that the iced Raspberry White Mocha had met her standards and that she would not change anything about the drink.

She is 50 percent likely to order it again, but only because she likes to try new drinks, and rarely orders the same drink twice.

Not a coffee fan, Sprouse found excitement in a strawberry banana smoothie. The fresh ingredients appealed to her and she enjoyed the chunks of fruit in the smoothie. Sprouse was quick to point out that the smoothie had a nice balance and neither the banana nor the strawberry flavors were overpowering. She felt that the smoothie had a great, smooth consistency and was not too milky or icy.

Sprouse was 80 percent likely to order the strawberry banana smoothie again and would not change anything. However, she did feel that the smoothies were greatly overpriced at just over $6.00 for a 20oz cup.

Both Sprouse and Dobich felt that the smoothie options were vast and capable of supporting many different tastes. They felt that Planet Fitness was the ideal plaza neighbor to Crazy Horse. Perfect for after a long workout, Crazy Horse offers smoothies with protein powder, kale, spinach and a variety of fruits. Plant-based milks and proteins are also available.

The manager, Bonnie, explained that all of the fruits and vegetables incorporated into their products are fresh. Bonnie emphasized that their coffee is unique because the baristas do not grind and package the beans, but grind them as needed so that the coffee is always fresh-tasting. Their frappuccinos are also made with real ice cream and not a powder-shake base.

Sprouse and Dobich especially enjoyed the Butterfly Pea Flower Frappe: a blended combination of vanilla, white chocolate, blue matcha, bursting flavors of lavender, topped with coconut whip and honey.

This drink was rated a 10000/10, and was said by Dobich to taste like “running through lavender fields on a hot summer day.”

Upon tasting a sandwich and oreo-brownie, the girls described the food as up to par and very tasty, with a large selection that included seasonal drinks and treats. Regarding the brownie, Sprouse stated, “icing so good.”  Bonnie explained that all items are baked in-house. The items can also be warmed in store according to customer preference.

Overall, Sprouse and Dobich felt that Crazy Horse had a fun, relaxing environment, similar to café Chicco Baccello, and a selection of creative, unique, and frequently changing items — but those items do come at a high price. Not to mention, the employees were extremely personable and helpful.

It is safe to say that we like Crazy Horse Coffee a latté.
