Ms. Smith, smiles for a picture in the science wing.

Q: Would you ever teach a biology class? If so, why?

A: I’m a special ed teacher with a degree in social studies, but biology is growing on me.

Q: Why did you decide to co-teach at Trinity?

A: I believe it’s better for special ed kids to be with peers and it’s good for me to be able to work with them.

Q: Did you like biology in high school? Why or why not?

Yes, because biology is the most relatable subject.

Q: What do you do as a co-teacher?

A: I help behind the scenes, accommodate students, and I also teach the class sometimes.

Q: What is your favorite type of biology?

A: My favorite type of biology is molecular biology because I find it very interesting how cells reproduce and form.

Q:  Have you co-taught before, and if so, where?

A: Yes, I taught English and math for a year at an all boys school.

Q: What do you like about co-teaching?

A: I enjoy teaching here and it’s a nice break in my schedule to go to different classes.

Q: In your opinion, what’s the best thing about co-teaching?

A:  I like to see the different aspects of teaching and the different personalities of the students.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

A: I coach the swim team and I will be coaching distance track in the spring.
