Washington County, PA — mark your calendars! On the first weekend of November 2025, Washington County will make history by hosting the highly anticipated United States Powerlifting Coalition (USPC) nationals, America’s Championship. This event will bring some of the strongest athletes in the nation to the region for an action-packed weekend.
Taking place at the Washington County fairgrounds with a spacious layout and easy access from Pittsburgh, a significant crowd is expected to be in attendance for one of the most exciting powerlifting events of the year.
In an interview with WTAP-TV, adaptive athlete Matthew Hill commented: “Athletes come from all over the country to attend national meets, and we have judges drive in from all over as well to make these events happen. It’s been really beautiful for me to see how the community of strength athletes comes together.”
This event will be open to the public, and tickets will be available for $20 at the door. A 2-day pass is also available for $30. For those who can’t attend in person, the USPC will also offer live-streaming options so fans across the country can follow the action from home.
On Saturday, November 1, a maximum of 100 athletes registered through the 181lb weight class will compete. On Sunday, November 2, everyone registered at the remaining weight classes, 198lbs and up, will compete. This championship is capped at 160 lifters.
Athletes ranging in age and experience will compete in the sport’s three main lifts: the squat, bench press and deadlift. Competitors will get the opportunity to set national and world records in each of these disciplines. Youth, open and masters categories will be featured.
Well-known Pittsburgh powerlifting coach Curtis Miller gave his feedback after a meet: “These competitions are always inspirational and you can pick up on how much each athlete appreciates the opportunity to get better under the bar with each meet. You can learn something from each and every one of them.”
In addition to the thrilling competition, the event will serve as a major boost to the local economy. Hotels, restaurants and businesses in the Washington County area will see a surge in visitors, with many attendees traveling to the region from across the U.S. for the meet. It’ll be a unique opportunity for local high school students to witness world-class athletes up close and become inspired to get involved in the sport.
For students, fans and aspiring lifters alike, the USPC’s America’s Championship will be an unforgettable event that will bring the powerlifting community together and put Washington County on the map as a destination for top-tier athletic events.
Show out and come witness history being made as personal, national, even world records are broken!
