
How are you adjusting to Trinity?
I am adjusting pretty well. I am starting to settle into a routine and I’m really enjoying getting to know both students and staff.
Where did you go to college? What was your major?
I went to the University of Pittsburgh and I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Teacher Education.
Why did you pursue a career in teaching?
I’ve always known that I wanted to be a teacher. I have had many teachers who inspired me, and I wanted to do the same for others. For me, teaching isn’t about the content. It’s about creating an environment where students feel safe, supported and excited to learn. I want them to look forward to coming to class and know I truly care about each of them.
What subjects are you teaching? Did you always want to teach them?
I teach World History and Economics. I’ve always loved World History and knew I wanted to teach it someday. I’m also really starting to enjoy teaching Economics.
What is the biggest goal you’d like to achieve while at THS?
My biggest goal at THS is to make a positive impact on my students.
How does it feel replacing Mr. Lee, a teacher with such a legacy?
I never had the chance to work with Mr. Lee, but I’ve heard wonderful things about him. While it’s always a challenge to follow a veteran teacher, I’m excited to bring my own strengths to the classroom and do my best to continue the great work he’s done.
What is the most challenging thing about adjusting to the high school?
The most challenging part has been navigating the building, but I’m finally getting the hang of it.
What’s some advice you’d like to give to your students?
Never stop learning new things!
