Looking for something to do this fall? Autumn is right around the corner, and so are new concerts and movies.
On October 23, 2025, Sabrina Carpenter makes her way back to Pittsburgh for the first time in seven years. It will be her first time performing at PPG Paints Arena.
“I’ve been to lots of concerts at the PPG Paints Arena. If we’re talking about Sabrina’s huge fanbase and the amounts of money getting put into every performance, I’d say it would be a great concert to see,” said Sophomore Rosie Orr.
Alice Cooper, another big artist, is also coming back to town. On September 3, 2024, he performed at Star Lake Pavilion with Rob Zombie and is now returning to Star Lake this year on October 1. Cooper is 77 years old, but that’s not stopping him from satisfying fans.
While Orr is not seeing Alice Cooper, she did say, “I’ve been to 16 concerts and am planning on going to Sombr, Vance Joy, Malcolm Todd, Lorde and Conan Gray.”
As leaves change, so do the stories on the big screen in the cinema. So far, most movies closing out 2025 are sequels. “The Black Phone” returns to theaters with its sequel, which has been teased online, though rumors suggest that all the trailers online were fake. Blumhouse Productions made an official teaser trailer last year and recently announced it is coming into theaters on October 17, 2025.
On November 21, 2025, fans are finally getting “Wicked” Part 2, “Wicked: For Good,” which is coming into theaters almost exactly a year later from Part 1. Fans are excited to see how the story between Elphaba and Glinda ends on the big screen.
A movie that also caught the internet’s attention, and most could say was pretty unexpected, is “Zootopia 2.” There are, of course, new plot developments for the main characters Judy and Nick, and viewers will be introduced to new characters and possibly get to explore more of Zootopia.
Orr said, “I’m most excited for ‘Zootopia 2’ to come out. I remember watching it for the first time when I was little, and it feels nostalgic.”
Concluding the incoming fall movies, “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” is coming out on December 5, 2025. When the first movie came out in 2023, fans of The Five Nights of Freddy’s franchise loved it. Ramping up a new sense of horror, fans get deeper back stories for the animatronics and dive deeper into lore for another suspenseful watch. The expectations for the new movie so far are high.
October is also a popular time for some nostalgic fall reruns. In October, “Casper” gets re-released in Phoenix theaters, celebrating 30 years since it first came out. From the October 3-9, it can be viewed again by fans!
“The Twilight Saga” is also celebrating 20 years by re-releasing the series. “Twilight” returns to the big screen on October 29, followed by “New Moon” on October 30, “Twilight Eclipse” on October 31, and “Breaking Dawn” Parts 1 and 2 respectively on November 1 and 2. It’s a very good way to end October and start up November.
Fall is a great time to enjoy music and cinema, so consider spending this fall at the theater or attending concerts!
