Every summer, people all around take the opportunity to plan and take vacations and trips with family, friends or on their own. Whether that’s an hour away, across the country or even overseas, several Trinity students were able to share their insights on their summer travels.
Junior Tessa Wright spent her summer exploring the glories of both England and Scotland.
Wright explains, saying, “We took this trip because my family has been wanting to travel to both these countries for a while now. We do have some ancestors as well from both areas, so it was nice to visit and see where they were from.”
Senior Micha Mariana is used to traveling to Japan with her family most summers; she reports having a positive experience with all the country has to offer each time.
“I’m at camp most of the summer, so it’s always nice to be able to spend that time with my whole family and enjoy the trip together. The history of the area is always interesting to see and hear about, and it really feels like you are in the year 2050 with the futurisms of a lot of the cities,” Mariana comments.
Sophomore Brody Barkley spent two weeks this summer with family and friends in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he walked the boardwalk, went swimming and took in the sights.
“We’ve gone to Myrtle every year, and it is just about the perfect family trip. My favorite parts were being able to walk on the boardwalk at night, to do all the sightseeing and be around the people,” Barkley states.
No matter where the student traveled, Wright, Mariana and Barkley express similar advice to those looking to take a summer trip themselves. Some general advice such as making sure to pack for all types of weather and activities, planning accordingly to the number of days gone and packing extra just in case.
Overall, they all recommend summer traveling, because experiencing places outside of Washington, PA, expands horizons and new opportunities for everyone.
