Here we are, Hillers! The 2024-2025 school year has finally come to an end! As we transition to summer, it’s not only important to acknowledge the graduating seniors but also the incoming seniors.
As a soon-to-be senior myself, I can say that it is nothing short of intimidating. Being a senior can feel heavy, with the pressure of completing the last year of high school and applying to colleges or preparing for future careers, which can get in the way of being social with other students. Nonetheless, the seniors have persevered through this pressure and have prevailed. Many of them will either further their education or jump right into the workforce.
If there is one thing I’ve learned from the class of 2025, it is to shoot for the stars. Many seniors here will go on to become professional athletes, doctors, educators and more. They have truly shown me that the opportunities after high school are endless.
I remember throughout my high school career, there were always one or two seniors who would take me under their wing. Whoever it was, I was genuinely inspired by their attitudes, dedication and hard work. They got me through the nerve-racking first two years of school, and pushed me through my junior year as well. Even now, I feel like I wouldn’t be who I am today without them. The seniors of the school are truly role models and inspirations.
As the juniors at Trinity High School focus on their final year, take a moment to appreciate the class that came before us. Once this summer is over, many of them will be starting their adult lives and won’t be back to hang with us for another year.
Even though they may be beginning a new chapter, don’t forget to keep in touch! Building deep connections can start with just a simple goodbye. So, remember to sign yearbooks, attend graduation parties and check up on them from time to time. Gifts, notes or just a heartfelt conversation are great ways to show a senior how much they will be missed.
To the class of 2025, I wish the best of luck with whatever they choose to pursue, and I thank you for all that the senior class has given Trinity High School, whether it was planning pep rallies, ramping up the student section or taking part in fundraisers or clubs. Everything the seniors have done to this school will have an impact on it forever.
And to the class of 2026, prepare to step into your role as seniors. Have a fantastic summer, Trinity!
