Among the most accomplished artists at Trinity, Senior Sienna Heasley is getting ready for her college journey. Heasley has chosen to attend Carnegie Mellon University this fall.
Heasley has always been around art as her family is very artistically inclined. She grew up loving art and is majoring in painting at CMU. She usually does surreal portraits but enjoys doing anything that involves painting.
Heasley has done countless art projects at Trinity, and picking a favorite is no easy task.
“If I had to choose, I’d pick my exaggerated portrait of David Bowie that I just did recently. It was so much fun and wasn’t something I usually make. Right when it was assigned I was excited to see what I could make,” Heasley stated.
Art may be her main activity, but Heasley also spends her time in many clubs.
Heasley is not only the president of the National Art Honors Society (NHAS), but she is also the design editor for Literary Journal and the marketing director for the musical.
Of all the teachers she’s had throughout her four years at Trinity High School, Heasley wanted to specifically thank Art teacher Mrs. Bennett for helping her with the difficult choices surrounding college decisions. Heasley mentioned that Bennett helped with her process of choosing a college because Bennett applied to many of the same schools.
CMU is highly recommended for art students, and Heasley is more than excited to attend this prestigious university.
Although her main art medium is painting and drawing, Heasley has “tried just about everything,” ranging from pottery to ceramics to sculpting.
Bennett and Heasley have worked together artistically for the entirety of Sienna’s high school experience.
To describe Heasley’s work ethic, Bennett commented, “She is an incredibly dedicated artist and has a true fascination for the subject. I could never pick a favorite assignment of hers; everything she does has something special to it and always carries her own personality in it as well.”
After college, Heasley mentioned she would like to have a studio and art gallery of her own, as that is her dream job in life.
As Heasley prepares for college, she continues her final art projects here at Trinity. Her bright future in the artistic field has aspiring potential. To see some of Heasley’s selected works, find her art on her website: www.siennadrawn.com.
