Mrs. Frazee and Mrs. Thornburg are not only respected teachers at Trinity High School, but also esteemed Student Council Advisors. After 13 successful years, the 2024-2025 school year is their last. Throughout their years of running the Student Council, they have supervised many memorable projects.
The close friends have experience working with each other, which is what made the job enjoyable for both of them. Additionally, as teachers, they also have experience working with kids. This is especially important because there are over 50 members in the Student Council who need guidance for the various projects they take on.
Frazee and Thornburg’s student council is made up of students who portray leaders. This exemplary leadership helps to guide other students in the right direction and influence them positively.
Student Council is the core of Trinity High School. They are responsible for planning and decorating the homecoming dance, as well as all aspects involving the food pantry. Frazee and Thornburg stock the food pantry while the students pack bags and distribute them to families in need.
If being a teacher wasn’t hard enough, Frazee and Thornburg voluntarily oversee the student council. Their prep, free and lunch periods are almost guaranteed to be consumed by student council needs and planning. Frazee and Thornburg also devote their time outside of school often. For example, when food pantry pickups are held after school, Frazee and Thornburg manage these responsibilities.
“It’s hard making sure classes are on task, but students understand that I can be a little crazy because of student council activities,” says Frazee.
Past advisors paved the way for Frazee and Thornburg. English teacher Mrs. Willis and Math teacher Mr. Skroupa handed over the privilege of Student Council Advisors to Frazee and Thornburg 13 years ago. The two previous advisors started many of the traditions and “trends” that continue to this day.
Yet, Frazee and Thornburg have also started many of their own traditions. They not only expanded the food pantry into what it is today, but also successfully hosted the student council conference among numerous different schools in 2023. The work they accomplish together has made for a great friendship.
“Working with Mrs. Frazee, who is my best friend, makes any job not feel like a job, and student council just brings us closer together,” says Thornburg.
“Mrs. Thornburg is my best friend, so many laughs and adventures together over the years,” Frazee agrees.
Thornburg and Frazee have put so much effort and time into making Trinity High School a place where students can succeed, get the help they need, and have fun while doing it. Thank you, Thornburg and Frazee!
