With prom just a couple of months away, now is the time to start planning for the big day! As the excitement builds, it’s crucial to focus on crafting and presenting promposals before the tickets sell out and appointments book up!
A promposal is a fun, creative way to ask someone special to prom. The key question is: How can someone craft a promposal that will leave their date grinning ear to ear?
First, one should consider what their potential date truly enjoys. Are they one to bask in attention and enjoy a big, extravagant promposal in front of all their friends and family, or would they lean toward and appreciate a more heartfelt, intimate ask? Understanding their preferences can significantly enhance the impact of one’s proposal.
Next, think about how to incorporate their hobbies and interests into the proposal to make it personable and memorable!
“Just being creative, such as including a pun with their special interest is a good idea. If they [puns] are not your thing, just ask someone from the heart,” advises Junior Cicely Sunseri.
Common promposal ideas often revolve around popular themes like sports, food or music. Consider crafting a playful softball pun for the girl on the Trinity softball team or using a beloved song lyric on a poster for that country star lover or even incorporating their favorite Chick-fil-A order as a fun-loving touch.
Also consider something out-of-the-box and adventurous, such as creating a scavenger hunt, asking them out with their favorite things or getting their friends in on the surprise and making it a group effort!
“My boyfriend and I ran a 5k race together last summer. For my hoco proposal, he did ‘Let’s run to Homecoming together.’ One of my interests is running and it was something we did together. I loved it. The extra thought made it special,“Sunseri comments.
No matter what approach someone decides to take, remember to act swiftly! With Trinity’s prom scheduled for May 30, 2025, Sunseri suggests starting promposals by late April to get ahead of all the prom planning that will come with the big “Yes!” So, gather that creativity and begin brainstorming those promposals, Hillers!
