I am pleased to nominate Rogan Cavanaugh for THS Student of the Month. He has been a great student and an asset to our school.
Rogan is a dedicated student and thus far his grades have been astounding in my classes. He has proven to be a determined and innovative student who is able to successfully excel in science and math and has been able to relate physics to real-life experiences. Rogan exhibits STEAM qualities such as being a great communicator, working well collaboratively, and relating topics across curricula and to real-life experiences. I saw these skills as he participated in the class projects and class interactions. Rogan is an excellent communicator who adds to classroom discussion through questioning and extensive explanations. He is always the type of student who is willing to add useful information to classroom discussions. His implementation and desire to learn helps to make him a successful student. Rogan is an amazingly hard worker in my class.
Rogan not only excels in the classroom, but he also is a very dedicated student to the community and his school. He has successfully demonstrated leadership ability by giving his time to several Trinity High School activities and clubs. Rogan is an active member of the National Honors Society. Rogan is also a valued member of the Trinity Marching Band and Trinity Band. Rogan gives back to the community by being a member of the Students Helping Others club, where he helps raise money for the teen outreach program in Washington County and is also a students advisory board member who focuses on educating his peers on key aspects of growing up and living in today’s society. Rogan is also a member of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science club. Rogan scored first place at the regional and state competitions last year for his excellence in physics with a focus on music applications. He will be competing again this year as well. These projects allow Rogan to display his excellent scientific thought, analytical skills, communication skills, and creativity.
With all these activities Rogan also helps out in any way he can. Recently Rogan volunteered to help keep Trinity safe by helping organize and program the Trinity Safety Accountability data that is used in case of an emergency. He did this all on his own time with no incentive at all. Rogan does all these activities while taking challenging and rigorous high school classes here at Trinity. Rogan loves to challenge himself in all aspects of life.
It is for these reasons that I offer high recommendations for Rogan Cavanaugh without reservation. His intelligence and abilities will truly be an exemplary representation of Trinity High School.
