As the girls’ soccer team dribbled through the end of their 2024 season, they finished with one section game win, one non-section game win and three scrimmage wins. Though they had several losses and a change in coaching, they still managed to make the most of their season and have fun! Their season ended on October 16, 2024 with a game against Chartiers Houston.
The team captains are Senior Abby Higgins and Junior Cassidy Arthur. The assistant coach is Mrs. Stanton and there are a total of 19 girls on the team, including three seniors, Alexandra Coen, Lillah Clark and Higgins
It is said that Chartiers Valley was their closest competitor and biggest rival. Considering their team size, ability and skill, they seem to be on the same level. The Trinity girls’ soccer team beat them 3-2. This is the girl’s team’s first section win in the past few years.
Additionally, after putting in hard work and effort they got their best win, 4-0, against Ringgold on October 3, 2024.
Stanton, who is proud of the team, noted, “We have made a lot of improvements this year, and we hope to play in our section next year, so everyone should stick with us.”
Showing up at games is important to support the team, but there are other ways to do so as well. They held fundraisers, one at Rita’s and one at Red Robin. Supporting them can also be as simple as following their Instagram and dressing up for their spirit nights.
Higgins recommended, “To support them you can follow our Instagram @trinityladyhillers.”
When the girls practice, they go to various locations. Their main practice spot is one of the turf fields at the middle school, either the football field or the indoor field. Sometimes, they share the fields with the football team so that is one determining factor in which field they use. They also occasionally practice at the softball field.
Everyone has a favorite part of being on the team, from seeing friends to contributing to a win.
Clark stated her favorite part is “the bus rides home from away games because we always have a lot of fun on the buses and talk to each other, regardless of if we win or lose.”
Stanton said, “My favorite part is working with the girls and seeing them develop from the beginning of the year to where they are now.”
The girl’s soccer team had a good season but they hope their next season is even better!
