I am pleased to nominate Abby Bodart for THS Student of the Month. As her Honors English teacher and F.O.R. Club advisor at Trinity High School, I have witnessed firsthand her impressive intellect, unwavering commitment to service, and inspiring leadership.
As an English 10 Honors class student, I observed her exceptional dedication, curiosity, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence. She consistently exhibited a strong work ethic, a commitment to meeting deadlines, and an ability to adapt to new challenges. Somehow, she also successfully managed to participate in Shakespeare competitions and extracurricular clubs such as FBLA and Speech and Debate, win local essay competitions, run track and cross country, and compete in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, where she earned multiple first-place awards at the regional and state level. Outside of the traditional school schedule, she was accepted to Notre Dame’s Global Scholars program for additional studies in mythology with peers worldwide.
Moreover, her passion for learning is parallelled by her passion to serve and improve the lives of those around her. Through her participation in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy, our superintendent’s Student Advisory Board, and our Friends of Rachel Club, Abby values and embraces collaboration and teamwork to make a positive difference around her. Her leadership style is characterized by kindness, empathy, and a genuine desire to see others succeed. Whether planning, organizing, or implementing service projects for the Friends of Rachel Club, she consistently demonstrates a level of maturity and dedication that is truly exceptional. Notably, Abby worked as a summer student intern in an elite program for diverse high school students, the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Academy, where she conducted experiments in a professional laboratory setting; this experience is a testament to her academic prowess and her commitment to advancing human knowledge and well-being. One of the most noteworthy aspects of Abby’s junior year is her founding of a nonprofit dedicated to providing professional clothing to high school students for interviews and internships. Abby’s ability to identify and address a need so effectively speaks volumes about her entrepreneurial spirit and compassionate nature. It is no wonder that her peers and teachers alike hold her in the highest regard.
Abby’s talent, kindness, and achievements have made her a role model for our student body; therefore, she is worthy of the nomination for THS Student of the Month.
