Amongst the graduating seniors, Braylee and Bria Bruce are twins who appear similar at a first glace, but in reality, they have chosen entirely different career paths and future goals.
Bria is currently enrolled at WACTC, where she is preparing her skills in machining. This involves the art of precision metalworking and other important skills. She plans on going above and beyond in this field to overcome the stereotypes of the male-dominated field using the skills she has learned at WACTC to apply for a job right out of high school. Those around her have high expectations for her and her skills, and they look forward to seeing where she ends up getting a job as a machinist.
“Without the opportunity to attend VoTech, I would’ve never discovered my interest in machining, and I’m glad I got the training I needed,” Bria comments.
Braylee, on the other hand, has found her interest to be healthcare. During her time at Trinity High School she was a part of the sports medicine program, which gives her the ability to give back to her community through nursing.
“I found my interest in nursing after joining HOSA, which opened up my eyes to the appeal of nursing,” says Braylee.
Braylee has decided to pursue her passion at the Washington Hospital, where she will be able to learn more about nursing while working as an aid for a year before participating in a 16-month nursing program paid for by the Washington Hospital. Once her training is complete, she will decide between pediatric and travel nursing.
Apart from their career paths, Bria and Braylee are well-known for their strong friendship and sweet personalities.
“Braylee is super sweet, and Bria is always there for me when I’m down,” Junior Emma Ledger states.
Both seniors have exceptional futures ahead of them, and many of their friends and teachers are anticipating their quick successes immediately out of high school.
