It is my pleasure to nominate Carolyn Proudfit for the THS Student of the Month for October. I have had the privilege of getting to know her over the past two years and have been consistently impressed by her outstanding character and commitment to our school and community.
Carrie is truly an exceptional student. She consistently achieves top grades in her coursework, demonstrating an unparalleled commitment to learning. She actively engages in classroom discussions and goes above and beyond in assignments. Moreover, Carrie consistently demonstrates intellectual curiosity, academic integrity, and a strong work ethic that sets a remarkable example for her peers. It was a joy to witness her growth and contributions in English class during her sophomore year in my classroom.
Beyond the classroom, Carrie has been an invaluable asset to our school’s volleyball team. Voted as one of this year’s captains by her teammates, she showcases exemplary sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination on the court. Her leadership qualities are evident as she motivates and inspires her teammates to perform at their best. Whether in the weight room or on the court, she makes a positive impact and garners respect from her coaches and teammates.
In addition to her involvement in athletics, Carrie has shown an admirable commitment to fostering a love for literacy in our school and community. She took the initiative to establish a new book club last year, providing an avenue for students to explore their literary interests. Her passion for literacy is infectious; she organized community service opportunities for book club members to read to children in local daycare centers as well as to donate books to fill “Little Free Libraries” around Washington. Her efforts truly promote literacy in our school and community.
In summary, Carrie Proudfit is an accomplished young woman and a role model for our student body. She not only excels in every endeavor she undertakes, but she also brings a kind and uplifting spirit to our school. She is more than deserving of this recognition as THS Student of the Month.
