In the depths of Ms. Harrington’s Spanish class, Fletcher awakens to his newfound, supernatural powers. With the power of Doctor Strange, Harry Potter and Sonic, Fletcher has truly become unstoppable. Who will rise up and take down this fierce menace?

No matter what struggles someone is experiencing, or the stress someone is feeling, entertainment helps in taking life’s daily problems off of many people’s minds. In the spring season of 2022, many fantastic movies will be coming out and will allow people an escape from daily life.

Coming out on April 8, 2022, “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” introduces new characters, such as Tails, a fox with two tails who is Sonic’s faithful friend, and Knuckles, a red echidna who seems to be a villain in the trailer. The first movie in the series, “Sonic the Hedgehog,” received mainly positive reviews, and “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” shows promise in completing the same feat.

Sophomore Sydney Wahl watched the first “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though “Sonic the Hedgehog” is considered a kids’ movie, Wahl appreciates how the quick-paced humor can make multiple audiences laugh. After seeing the trailer, it seems “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” will continue to use this type of comedy.

When Wahl was asked if the genres of the movie (adventure/comedy) interested her, she replied, “I’ve always enjoyed movies that incorporated aspects of adventure and comedy. I also feel that the movie gets the mix between animation and real life just right.”

Above all else, making movies based on video games is an incredibly difficult task. Actually playing a game and watching a movie are distinctly different forms of entertainment, and both are judged with different criteria. Premiering on April 15, 2022, “Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore ” has an above-average trailer, which is to be expected. Like any other good trailer, it gets fans excited for the movie and interested in the conflict, which is a great quality to have considering it is a part of a trilogy. Appealing to a new audience while also getting long-time fans of the series excited is easier said than done.

Emily Iams, a sophomore at Trinity High School and a fan of the Fantastic Beasts series, has always loved anything related to the magic in the Harry Potter Universe. She first got into the series by reading the Harry Potter books after her brother did. After seeing the trailer, Iams was elated when her favorite character, Jacob Kowalski, played a major part.

When asked what she wanted to see in the movie, Iams eagerly responded, “I can’t wait to see the epic showdown between Grindelwald and Dumbledore, but more importantly, the fight that is running through the wizarding world; a fight between muggles (non magical people) and the witches and wizards.”

“Fantastic Beasts 3” will most likely be another fan-loved movie, and just hearing Iams’s response would make anyone interested in this one-of-a-kind series.

First debuting on April 22, 2022, “The Bad Guys” is looking to be a quality movie whose animation style is sublime. If there is one word that could be used to describe animation of “The Bad Guys,” it would be “clean.” The trailers are absolutely phenomenal and each of the characters have plenty of potential to be fan-favorites, such as Mr. Wolf, Mr. Tarantula, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Snake and Mr. Shark. The comedy in the movie is another reason to be excited. There will probably be some jokes steered toward younger audiences, as with any children’s film, but the majority seems to be funny across the board. It is a little too soon to be sure, but “The Bad Guys” is appearing to be a terrific movie that many can look forward to.

Additionally, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” will be coming out on May 6, 2022, and will be a sequel to the 2016 film, “Doctor Strange.” Personally speaking, “Doctor Strange” was a remarkable movie and had unbelievable fight scenes. The animation in these scenes were beyond belief and is better than most, if not all, of the other Marvel movies. Being able to witness what would otherwise be limited to one person’s imagination was magical in itself. Although “Doctor Strange” was a fascinating movie, the trailers for “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness” kind of feel like “been there done that.” The movie may be much better than expected though, and the trailer might be hiding crucial information. The only way to truly find out is to wait for it to come out and watch it.

Finally, “Jurassic World: Dominion” will be coming out on June 10, 2022. The trailer doesn’t seem much different compared to others in the series, but there is someone much more educated on this specific topic.

Luckily, Jonathan Brodak, a Trinity High School graduate and Allegheny college student, is a massive fan of both dinosaurs and, in turn, the Jurassic Saga. Brodak has been a dinosaur-lover since before he can even remember, and has mixed thoughts on the trailer.

“It’s kind of a tradition in the paleontological community to note all of the inaccuracies whenever a “Jurassic” film is released. The firm takes many creative liberties to portray these dinosaurs as human-hungry monsters instead of what they actually were: animals.” Brodak explained.

Brodak also noted, “I liked the plots of the films being set on an island because it gave me a suspension of disbelief and made the films more real. Maybe there is an island with dinosaurs?!”

Brodak elaborated on this topic and concluded that with this film being set in the continental United States, the suspension that was originally there is now gone. After talking with a dinosaur-expert and passionate “Jurassic” series fan, the Jurassic Saga sounds more appealing than ever, regardless of if the most recent Jurassic movie turns out to be subpar.

Movies and other forms of entertainment are a blast to talk about. Not trying to be the fun police, but although this is the case, it is important to stress that respecting other people’s opinions while sharing one’s own is extremely important in any situation. With that being said, hope all of the Trinity students have tons of fun watching the new movies coming out this season.
