Dear Santa,                                                                                                                                                                     2021

Though our hearts still patter with excitement and our eyes beam with joy, our Christmas list looks different this year.  No, you won’t need your toy bag here. There are no toys on our lists, but different types of gifts. We have thought about wishing on a star, or shaking the magic of a snow globe, but we know only you can stop these wishes from going adrift.

Riley wants more time with her family, she has no time for calamity. Should her list be checked off, her memories will be cherished. Emma L. and Haleigh want all stresses to perish. Diminished stress means more time for enjoying activities that mean the most, like baking Santa cookies. Up for a good time, Hannah wants to boogie. She wishes for more laughter and happiness, for everyone to take a moment to see the positive. Meredith wants you to grant her some high elf-esteem and confidence so she can make it her prerogative. Addison wants others to feel more understanding and empathy in their hearts. We all think that is quite smart. There is no need to be tart. Fletcher agrees, for he wants for others to respect and be thoughtful of those in our community. This year has shown us the importance of this wish and to be helpful and kind given the opportunity. Specifically, he wishes for no more paper  all over the bathroom. That gives our janitors quite a gloom. Rachel wishes for us to have more appreciation for those around us, those who we feel are quite a plus. Emma R. realizes everyone is going through something, and wishes for us all to take more time to have patience and empathize. It never hurts to take time to sentimentalize. Kayla wishes for good health for all and the elimination of the pandemic. This is a wish we all want, especially your dear Rudolph—whose nose is dimmed by his mask—, for this we have no polemic. Kaylee, no longer wants to say, “Oh deer!” due to being overwhelmed; she wishes for the gift of time management. She promises to no longer gallivant. Macy wishes for more unity and peace. That would be quite the treat. Krista wishes for more compassion and love within the world, one that is passion- swirled.

That is all we want this Christmas, though it is complex. We know that you can make this happen in your magical vortex. Maybe send an elf to help or two, we know you have our backs and won’t let this Christmas go askew

Sincerely,  The Hiller Staff
