Top five things to do when you’re too old to trick-or-treat
Halloween is a holiday where children love to go house to house and collect candy. As children get older, they start deciding if they are too old to trick-or-treat. Different children stop trick-or-treating at different ages, most often during high school. Not to worry, there are plenty of other things to do on a Halloween night other than trick-or-treat.
1) Watching a scary movie is a classic thing to do on Halloween. People can gather friends and cozy up under covers for some good scares.
2) Another thing that people can do is hand out candy. Just because someone is too old to trick or treat doesn’t mean everyone is, and there are still children that are hoping to get a whole bag full of candy. Handing out candy and observing costumes is a quite normal, yet fun idea for Halloween evening.
3) Every teenager has heard of going to a party on Halloween night. Dressing up and getting to go and hang out with friends is something most teenagers love to think about. People who decide to do this this year, though, will have to be wary of COVID protocols.
4) Haunted houses are a Halloween tradition for some people, but beware, they can be frightening. Those who love adrenaline and scares can go and have a fun, terrifying night with friends and/or family. These types of scares aren’t for everyone, though, and people who scare easily should probably not go to a haunted house for fun.
5) Host a pumpkin carving/decorating contest. Have some friends over and see who can make the best pumpkin. This is an activity that can be done by kids of all ages.
Halloween is a fun holiday, but most people only see it as a night for trick-or-treating. There are plenty of other things that can be done instead if you believe you are too old. Hopefully everyone has a safe and fun Halloween night!
