Falling into Trinity fun
As the summer finally winds to an end, fall activities welcome many to the school year, whether that means the new freshman or returning upperclassmen. The high school has something for everyone during the fall season.
Fall entertainment can be found in school sports. For example, the golf team is run by Mr. Marino and usually practices at The Lone Pine Golf Course. The girls tennis team is run by Mr. Stoner and the team meets at the middle school tennis courts. The cross country team is run by Ms. Bozcar and has most of their practices are at the middle school field. The volleyball team is run by Mrs. Helmkamp and the team has home games at the high school. Students looking for something to do during the week can attend any of these sporting events.
Without a doubt, Fall wouldn’t be complete without a home football game. The games are always packed on Friday nights because everyone comes together for the football team, cheerleaders and marching band. These games are also important because they instill a tremendous amount of school spirit and pride.
The next Trinity home game will be October 4 against Belle Vernon. This game will also be Homecoming night and the Homecoming court will appear at halftime. The tickets cost $3 for students and $8 for other attendees. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m, but make sure to be early to grab a seat. The Trinity Marching Band will be playing their show, Dreams, after the Homecoming game.
Another Fall activity is the Washington Symphony Orchestra (WSO) concert. The concert is coming up very soon, and will be held at the high school. WSO will be performing different outer space-themed collections, such as “Dr. Who,” “Star Trek” and “Neptune.” The tickets for the concerts are $20 and free for music students.Tickets can be purchased at washsym.org/buying-tickets. The concert is on October 12 at 8 p.m. and it is a great way to support the community.
In addition to Trinity activities, there are also events happening in the community. The pumpkin festival will be held in Houston, PA, on October 11. There will be food, craft vendors, music, entertainment for everyone, children’s games, and many more pumpkin related activities at the festival.
There is something for everyone to enjoy in both the school and the community. These fall activities are only around once a year, so make sure to go while you can!
