Trinity High School stands tall, honoring the new inductees of the National Honor Society.

The 2020-2021 National Honor Society induction ceremony was completely virtual for students this year, due to COVID-19.

For years, the NHS induction ceremony has been an in-person event where students, families and teachers gather together to celebrate and welcome new students to the National Honor Society. This year, the important event was virtual and the Trinity staff worked extremely hard to make the ceremony a success.

The induction ceremony recognizes the hard work of the inductees, but it is also a place where the community can come together.

The school administrators, the NHS officers, JROTC, Mr. Prentice, Mrs. Berty and I are working very hard to make sure it is still a nice ceremony,” said Mrs. Rush, prior to the ceremony.

A plus side to the virtual ceremony was that students could watch the ceremony in the comfort of their own homes with friends and family.

The video can be found by navigating to the high school page at www.trinitypride.org, and then clicking on the announcement about NHS in the latest news, and finally clicking on the NHS icon, which will direct those interested to the video. The video will remain available to watch indefinitely.

During the ceremony, five NHS officers gave speeches and High School Principal, Mr. Uram, described the importance of the NHS at Trinity High School.

The officers spoke on the topics of leadership, scholarship, character, service, and NHS history. These five topics are the pillars of the organization and represent the qualities that a NHS member should work to embody.

After the speeches, pictures of the new inductees were displayed while High School Assistant Principal, Dr. Demian, read their names.

The event was still a great way to acknowledge the new inductees, despite the circumstances. NHS will find other creative ways to uphold the values of their organization throughout the year, and teachers and students alike remain optimistic about the year. Surely, this year’s ceremony was one to remember.
