Q: How long have you been teaching at Trinity?

A: For Decades!

 

Q: What classes do you teach?

A: I teach Honors Debate 1, 2, 3, 4; Honors Writing; Journalism 1; Public Speaking; English 9; and Advanced Public Speaking.

 

Q: What college did you attend? What was your major?

A: I went to California University, and I dual majored. My first major doesn’t even exist anymore: Speech and Theater, and English was my second major.

 

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I don’t have any free time…

 

Q: What made you want to become a teacher?

A: I had a great speech teacher and many great English teachers.

 

Q: What is your favorite class to teach?

A: Whatever period I’m teaching, that’s my favorite. I love them all!

 

Q: What keeps you happy all of the time?

A: Speech and Debate.

 

Q: Have you ever had an accomplishment that is memorable?

A: Justin Welsh was the National Winner of Informative Speaking. He was admitted to the Hall of Fame.

 

Q: Do you have advice for Trinity Students? What is it?

A: “This above all: to thine own self be true.” –  William Shakespeare

 

Q: Is it true that you dated Civil War general and 18th President Ulysses S. Grant?

A: A lady never tells! But I can’t believe they’d find out between “U” and I…

 

Q: Do you have anything that you’d like to add?

A: Trinity Students should take advantage of the wonderful opportunities that are here on the hill. Enjoy being a student.
