Senior Hiller Staff Member: Maria Cimino

What is your favorite memory from being part of the Hiller staff?

This year’s secret Santa when Maddie gave Kenzie the remote-controlled poop.

What are you going to miss most about being a part of the newspaper?

Listed in no particular order: Morgie, the parties, and the close, family-type relationship we have as a staff.

How many red pens did Mrs. O’Lare use to correct your articles?

None, my writing is flawless. (JK, so many that she probably holds a monopoly in the red pen market.)

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Mrs. O’Lare.

Where are you going to college and what are you majoring in?

I will be attending Kent State University this fall and majoring in Psychology.

What is the best article you’ve ever written?

Probably the one on this year’s Holocaust Center field trip with Ms. Shaw. It was published in The Observer Reporter, which was a really proud moment for me.

What advice do you have for future staff members?

Don’t be afraid to get out there and talk to people when it comes to articles. You won’t get any answers to your questions unless you ask them.

Why did you choose to take journalism?

I was a part of the TMS Times in middle school, which I enjoyed, so I was really excited to be in an actual class focused on Journalism and writing.

Is there anything you’d like to add?
